While the Army Corps HEC-RAS 2D could be used to generate a two-dimensional model for the existing conditions, the model\u2019s limited capabilities made evaluating modeling a future condition (e.g. a solid perimeter wall) very cumbersome. In fact, HEC-RAS 2D is not capable of modeling obstructions in a 2-dimensional domain directly. In order to model the perimeter wall within HEC RAS 2D, the only practical option would be to manually modify the terrain.<\/p><p><b class=\"break\"><\/b>However, modeling obstructions is quite easy using GeoHECRAS 2D. By creating a shapefile of the perimeter wall footprint, we assigned the feature as a 2D flow obstruction and the future condition was incorporated. From there it was a matter of running this scenario to determine and evaluate the impacts.
